Blind 10
Blind 10 lets a team that is losing badly bid big, before seeing a card.
Who can bid it
Section titled “Who can bid it”- The team must be at least 100 points behind at the start of the hand.
- Only the first partner on the team to bid can make it, and only before looking at their cards (hands are dealt face down while this rule is on).
- Once a team’s first partner has bid normally, Blind 10 is off for that team for the hand.
What it means
Section titled “What it means”A blind 10 is the team’s whole contract. The partner of the player who bid it does not bid at all: their turn is skipped, and their tricks simply count towards the ten.
Scoring
Section titled “Scoring”| Result | Points |
|---|---|
| Team takes 10 or more | +200, plus 1 per overtrick (each a bag, as usual) |
| Team takes fewer than 10 | -200 |
Combinations
Section titled “Combinations”Blind 10 combines with Blind Nil. It cannot be combined with Nilly (a team bid leaves no nil for the team) or with Mirror (which has no bidding).
