Bridge House Rules
Bridge needs four players, but there are several classic ways to play it with two. Pick one when you choose 2 players; see the base rules for the standard game, including scoring, vulnerability and the rubber.
- Double Dummy: each player is partnered by a dummy opposite them, unseen until after the auction.
- Single Dummy: one dummy is face up during the auction, and the declarer chooses which dummy to partner.
- Draw Bridge: no dummies; the first 13 tricks are played to draw your hand from the stock.
All three are casual: they never change anyone’s rating.
Draw Bridge also has a house rule of its own:
- Open Stock: the top card of the stock is face up, so you know what each draw trick is for.
If you want a variant that doesn’t exist yet, you can build custom house rules for your own tables in the app, or file a request if the rule builder can’t express what you’re after.
